For nearly 20 years, TEP has hosted blood drives for the American Red Cross several times a year at our offices downtown and on Irvington Road.

Many of our employees – and their family members and friends – give blood when we host a blood drive. About a dozen individuals have given more than 50 units of blood, and a few have contributed more than 100 units. A “unit” of blood is about a pint, and the human body has 8-12 pints of blood.

Since we’ve partnered with the American Red Cross, TEP blood drives have collected 3,430 units of blood, potentially saving 10,290 lives.

Our next blood drive is on Thursday, June 13 from 7 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at our Headquarters, 88 E. Broadway Blvd. Register in advance at www.redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code TEPDOWNTOWN.

On the day of the drive, you’ll need to complete a Rapid Pass at http://www.redcrossblood.org/RapidPass and bring that along with your picture ID to your appointment.
