TEP leaders promoted economic development and job growth in the region at prominent events this fall.

On Nov. 13, TEP served as a title sponsor of the inaugural Tucson Metro Chamber’s State of the Region event, allowing participants to hear insights into Pima County’s economic growth. TEP is an active participant in the chamber. Joe Salkowski, Senior Director of Community and Public Affairs, represents TEP on the Chamber’s Board of Directors and serves as Secretary of its Executive Committee.

Mayors and leaders from across Pima County – including Adelita Grijalva, Chair of the Pima County Board of Supervisors – discussed economic development and job creation. Also, business leaders participated in a panel discussion about market challenges.

TEP representatives joined the event to learn from and network with local business leaders and others.

On Oct. 22, Ryan Anderson, TEP’s Manager of Business Development, promoted TEP’s business-focused programs and incentives at an event aimed for site selectors and development consultants.

Anderson was among three participants in a panel discussion at the Institute for Professionals in Taxation event.

Sun Corridor, the Southern Arizona economic development organization, invited TEP to participate based on our support for regional growth. Site selectors and consultants help companies choose locations for relocations and major expansions, helping to create economic expansion and new jobs.

During the panel discussion, Anderson outlined the benefits of economic development incentives, the importance of understanding tax implications, and when negotiation is appropriate. Anderson talked about TEP’s support of the community and reviewed our processes, rates, programs, and incentives, highlighting our competitive position in the market.
