TEP energizes local businesses by offering incentives to install electric vehicle (EV) chargers, which deliver both financial and environmental benefits.
EV chargers help attract and retain employees while fostering goodwill, drawing customers with the convenience of charging during their visit.
TEP’s rebates, which can cover up to 85 percent of the project costs, significantly offset the investment. Learn more about our Smart EV Charging Program.
TEP also recently partnered with Volta, a nationwide EV charging and media company, to bring chargers to disadvantaged communities, expanding access to zero-emission vehicles.
Here are some examples of businesses that TEP has supported with EV charger rebates.
Dairy Queens
Frozen confections from two local Dairy Queens taste twice as nice knowing the family-owned-and-operated restaurants support several sustainable efforts, including EV charging.
Don Gin and his family took advantage of TEP’s rebates in 2020 to help pay for EV chargers at two locations, 1760 W. Speedway and 1025 E. Irvington Road.
Tucson ER & Hospital
Installing an EV charging station was an easy decision for Tucson ER & Hospital, which prides itself on offering state-of-the art testing and diagnostics and patient-centered care.
The physician-owned hospital at 4575 E. Broadway has found that providing EV charging on site adds value and convenience for their patients while supporting their commitment to sustainability by promoting a cleaner, healthier community.
Hotel Congress
With TEP’s support, Hotel Congress’ electric vehicle charging hub in downtown Tucson is serving as a statewide example of enhanced urban sustainability.
TEP provided significant rebates earlier this year for the installation of EV chargers along Toole Avenue across the street from the hotel, near Maynards restaurant. The project was the first under the Charge Ahead Challenge to promote the electrification of Arizona’s transportation system.
Century Tucson Marketplace Theatres
TEP is supporting the installation of new EV chargers in disadvantaged areas through a partnership with Volta Inc., a nationwide EV charging and media company. The chargers include large color screens that will feature advertisements promoting our energy efficiency programs.
The first two chargers were installed at Century Tucson Marketplace Theatres.
