Community Vitality
TEP is dedicated to being a good neighbor and providing assistance to our most vulnerable residents: struggling working families, seniors, persons with disabilities, teen and young children.
Our support helps to address homelessness and poverty, hunger, unsafe and inefficient housing, and a lack of access to dental and health care.
By working to address these needs, we’re giving individuals and families new opportunities for a better life while creating a stronger, healthier and more vibrant community.
Agencies Supported
TEP supports hundreds of local nonprofit groups. These are just a few of the agencies benefitting from our financial contributions and volunteer support:
Our Family Services Inc.
Our Family Services provides temporary housing, food, clothing, furnishings and household goods to hundreds of homeless children, youth and families through the organization’s New Beginnings shelter and housing programs. Funding is used to cover security deposits, utility fees, transportation, food, clothing, household goods and food for families transitioning to permanent housing.
GAP Ministries
GAP Ministries operates a warehouse of new items purchased at deeply discounted prices from retailers. Goods are then purchased by residents with limited incomes using vouchers provided to them by nonprofit redistribution partners. Funding is used by GAP Ministries to leverage their purchase of goods from retailers.
Pima Council on Aging
PCOA helps the community age well by providing programs and services and acting as a resource for services offered through other community partners. POCA assists older adults and their families with many aging issues, including Medicare, in-home meals and help, caregiving, legal, financial, health and nutrition.
Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona
The Community Food Bank responds to food insufficiency and its root causes to help restore the dignity, health, opportunity and hope to those living in poverty. TEP’s funding supports the numerous fundraising events and food drives held throughout the year to help feed hungry individuals and families.
Primavera Foundation
TEP has a strong relationship with the Primavera Foundation, which provides essential services that ensure underserved individuals and families have safe and affordable housing and the opportunity for gainful employment. Our investments in their work strengthen families and provide them with long-term financial security while revitalizing our neighborhoods.
Youth on Their Own
Our contributions to Youth on Their Own support its Student Living Expense Program, which provides financial assistance and support services to help more than 100 homeless youth become self-sufficient, complete high school and pursue other successes.
Mobile Meals of Tucson
Mobile Meals of Tucson provides homebound and isolated seniors and adults who have disabilities with ongoing meals and nutritional support to help manage their chronic illnesses, reduce complications and hospital admissions, and improve their overall health.
