Medical Device Alert
If you or someone in your household uses a life-sustaining medical device or has a medical condition requiring continuous electric service, power outages can cause real concern.
Tucson Electric Power’s Medical Device Alert program helps to keep you informed about service interruptions, their status and the estimated time of restoration. We also will notify you in advance of any planned service outages affecting your residence.
How it works
When you return a certification form completed by a licensed physician, TEP will place an alert on your account that someone in your household uses a life-sustaining medical device or requires continuous electric service due to a medical condition.
To have an alert placed on your account, please complete the Customer Authorization Form (en español) and have your licensed physician complete the Physician’s Certification Form.
Attach the completed Physician’s Certification Form to your doctor’s letterhead or prescription form send these with your Customer Authorization Form by email or by mail to:

Please note that the Medical Device alert program does not guarantee uninterrupted service and your status must be recertified every two years. Customers on the Medical Device Alert program must remain current on their account by paying their monthly bills.
