Stand-Alone Electric Vehicle Charging Plan

Our Stand-Alone Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Plan is designed for businesses, companies and vendors that install new, stand-alone direct current (DC) fast-charging stations.

The plan does not include a demand charge.

How does the Stand-Alone Electric Vehicle Charging Plan work?

This pricing plan is available to all commercial customers that require service for electric vehicle charging stations that are separately metered from other facilities on the same premises. The plan allows resale of energy for the use of electric vehicle charging.

This plan includes lower “off-peak” and “super off-peak” rates during lower energy use times and higher “on-peak” rates during periods when most customers use more energy. The plan rewards customers with lower rates for shifting their energy usage away from on-peak hours.

What are the potential advantages of this plan?

Usage during off-peak and super off-peak hours could reduce your monthly bills. Your savings will be based on your actual usage and patterns

What are the potential disadvantages of this plan?

Small commercial customers could pay higher basic service charges if usage exceeds 24,000 kWh in two consecutive months in a rolling twelve-month period. Medium and large commercial customers could pay higher basic service charges if measured kW falls below designated qualifying criteria levels for designated customer classes.

Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day (July 4), and Labor Day. If Independence Day falls on Saturday, the weekend schedule applies on the preceding Friday, July 3. If Independence Day falls on Sunday, the weekend schedule applies on the following Monday, July 5. Weekend off-peak hours are from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Super off-peak hours are 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. seven days a week.

If Christmas Day and New Year’s Day fall on Saturdays, the weekend schedule applies on the preceding Fridays, Dec. 24 and Dec. 31. If Christmas Day and New Year’s Day fall on Sundays, the weekend schedule applies on the following Mondays, Dec. 26 and Jan. 2. Weekend off-peak hours are from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Super off-peak hours are 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. seven days a week.

Plan charges and conditions

  • A Basic Service Charge that covers some fixed-service costs such as metering, service lines, customer service and billing functions and some distribution system expenses
  • A usage-based Energy Charge for on-peak, off-peak and super off-peak hours
  • This plan is available to commercial electric customers
  • Customers may switch to another plan once within a rolling 12-month period
