A team of Tucson Electric Power employees is available to provide business customers with specialized, proactive service on a wide variety of issues – from energy-efficiency programs and new projects to advice about pricing plans and regulations.
Three Commercial Account Managers and a Supervisor work mostly with medium and large businesses, but they help businesses of any size, depending on their needs.
“We want to be our customers’ trusted energy partner,” said Joe Cruz, Supervisor of Commercial Account Services. “We are always looking for new solutions and ways to be proactive. We want to continuously develop valued relationships with our business customers.”
The Commercial Account Managers are part of TEP’s larger customer service team, which includes Key Account Managers who assist TEP’s 100 largest business customers and a Call Center with Commercial Customer Care Representatives who take daily calls.
Meet the three Commercial Account Managers:
Aracely Lucero
Lucero has worked at TEP since 2003, serving in various roles, including Training Coordinator and Supervisor. Over the years, Lucero has gained extensive knowledge in multiple areas.
As a Commercial Account Manager, Lucero manages large commercial and industrial businesses. She provides a range of assistance, including helping with construction projects and pricing.
Lucero helps eligible businesses qualify for a state sales tax exemption on energy used for manufacturing or mining operations. One of Lucero’s most recent projects included helping large construction companies manage their energy use to reduce charges associated with their energy demand.
Lucero enjoys educating her customers so they can make informed decisions about their electric service. “TEP cares about its customers, and I want to show it by providing the best service possible.” Lucero said. “We want to be the customer’s energy partner, not just their utility company.”
Geovanna Moreno
Moreno has worked at TEP since 2005 and joined the commercial team in 2014. Her years of Customer Care experience have provided her with vast knowledge of customers’ needs, including new service, billing and energy management.
When Moreno meets a new customer, she engages and collaborates with them about their specific plans so she can assemble a team to execute their project.
One of her focus areas is new, major developments, including the GEICO regional office building, which recently opened on Tucson’s southside.
“Customer service is my passion. I love to help my customers,” Moreno said.
Manny Romero
For most of his 12-year tenure at TEP, Romero has worked with commercial customers in some capacity, gaining extensive knowledge about pricing plans, meters, technical issues and efficiency.
In his current role for the past five years, Romero finds energy solutions for customers, including restaurants, hospitals, health clinics and national chains. In addition, Romero works with TEP’s sister company, UniSource Energy Services, the electric provider in the Santa Cruz County, to assist the Fresh Produce Association in Nogales.
More recently, Romero actively collaborated with TEP’s Engineering department on a major substation and electrical infrastructure project that will support the expansions of large manufacturing and industrial centers.
In his job, Romero is an expert in rate analysis and cost comparison. He is constantly looking for ways to produce a positive experience for his customers. “Here at TEP, we strive on being customer centric and customer focused,” Romero said.
