Irvington Campus Planned Area Development
TEP is installing new generating resources and making other improvements at its Irvington Campus, located southeast of East Irvington Road and South Alvernon Way in Tucson, to help improve operations, support expanded use of renewable energy and maintain affordable, reliable electric service for customers.
In April 2018, the Tucson City Council approved Planned Area Development (PAD) zoning for the campus. This zoning will support comprehensively-planned development and allow the company to move forward with improvements that accommodate our community’s changing energy needs.
The PAD also will allow for the establishment of development standards and land use regulations that are tailored to meet the needs of this unique land use — the only one of its kind in the region. This allows TEP to make the most efficient use of the site to satisfy our community’s long-term need for safe, reliable and sustainable energy.
The Irvington Campus was developed in unincorporated Pima County in 1955 and was annexed into the City of Tucson in 1995.
